Work rooted in our community

I'm Sally Busby, a teacher, a mom, and an advocate for kids and families. I’ve spent my life in classrooms, union meetings, and IEP conferences, standing up for kids, for public schools, and for families navigating real struggles.

I'm running for state representative because I believe every family in District 78 deserves to live with dignity, opportunity, and hope. When I saw families around me struggling, underfunded classrooms, and parents stretched too thin, I knew something had to change. We deserve leaders who listen.

My vision for our community

I believe in Southwest Indiana because I see the strength and kindness of Hoosiers every day. From our schools to our unions to our neighborhoods, we already have what we need to thrive. We just need leaders willing to fight for us. My vision is simple: a community where families feel secure, students feel supported, and workers feel respected.

    Investing in primary care and accessible health care early saves money on emergency room visits later. Every person deserves dignity, access, and choice when it comes to their own body and health.

  • Thriving Families

    Our community deserves access to affordable healthcare, housing, and childcare for everyone. Focusing on these things has a great return on investment. A thriving community helps us all.

  • Mental Healthcare

    Every Hoosier deserves access to the mental health support they need, without shame, stigma, or financial strain. Mental health is health, and it’s time our policies treat it that way.

  • Local Opportunity

    We must invest in jobs, career pipelines, and businesses right here in District 78. Our decisions today will affect the economy for several generations.

  • Strong Schools

    It’s time to treat public education as the foundation of our future, not an afterthought. Every student deserves to feel seen, supported, and inspired at school. Support our teachers, reduce class sizes, and invest in our children’s future.
